Program objective
The grant is aimed at private landholders looking to improve riverbank and wetland habitats on their property.
For the successful applicants South East Local Land Services will engage a contractor with aboriginal trainees to undertake the works.
The objectives of the program are to:
- provide employment and training opportunities for aboriginal community members
- enhance and restore riverbank and wetland habitats for native plants and animals, including threatened species.
This program is administered by Local Land Services.
Eligibility
- Eligible activities must be associated with riverbank or wetland rehabilitation.
- Contractors will be expected to provide a report on completion of the project, detailing works done and advice for ongoing works.
- Landholders will be expected to enter into a 10 year management agreement and undertake agreed management activities relevant to the funding they receive.

- Rural landholders in the Shoalhaven region.
Types of projects funded under this grant
Funded projects can include the following on-ground works:
- Weed control to restore and protect vegetation around riverbanks and wetlands.
- Planting of native species to enhance the ecosystem around riverbanks and wetlands.
