Program objective
The selected service Providers will deliver an outcomes-based employment support service tailored to the needs of the Participants. This support approach will help Participants to achieve sustainable and skilled employment by undertaking a range of activities including but not limited to:
- identifying relevant employment and training opportunities;
- linking Participants with local employers and businesses;
- helping individuals to access and connect with information about establishing their own businesses; and
- supporting language training and oversees qualification
This program is administered by Department of Education.
Eligibility
Who can apply
To be eligible for the grant and to deliver ASESS program, Providers must;
Be an organisation that alreadyprovidesadedicatedsupportserviceto vulnerablehumanitarianvisa holders. Organisations are either an Australian Government Humanitarian Settlement Program (HSP) provider, or their core business is to deliver services to humanitarian visa holders and they must.
- be currently operating in NSW
- be a legal entity with the capacity to contract
- have an Australian Business Number (ABN)
- be registered for the purposes of GST
- have an account with an Australian financial institution
- be covered by public liability insurance
- be financially viable
- be one of the following entity types:
- a company incorporated in Australia
- a company incorporated by guarantee
- an incorporated trustee on behalf of a trust
- an incorporated association
- a partnership
- a registered charity or not-for-profit organisation or
- an Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander Corporation registered under the Corporations (Aboriginal and /or Torres Strait Islander) Act 2006
Organisations cannot be Federal or State Government entities.

The ASESS program will operate for the ‘Agreement Period’ specified in the draft funding Deeds.
The Department of Education may, at its sole discretion, and at any stage of the application process, do all or any of the following:
- require additional information from an applicant.
- change the scope or the requirements of these guidelines.
- vary, amend (including by replacement) or terminate the application process.
- vary, extend or provide additional funding to contracts during the service delivery period if; the initiatives are proven to be successful, there is continued demand for the initiative and should funding become available. The Department will use the evaluation criteria outlined with these guidelines to make such decisions.

Successful applications will be decided by: ED SWP
Applications will be assessed by a Grant Evaluation Panel against the criteria listed above. The panel consists of Departmental staff and may include representatives from other Government agencies who are specialists in this sector.
The Grant Evaluation Panel may (but does not have to) seek additional information about the applicant and/or application to assist in the assessment process.
The Grant Evaluation Panel will submit final recommendations for endorsement by an authorised delegate within the Department.
Decisions related to successful or unsuccessful applications remain at the Department’s discretion.
