This fund provides free CCTV packages worth up to $5,000 available to eligible small businesses and community organisations, in eligible Local Government Areas in Greater Sydney.

Program objective
These grants will provide funding for CCTV systems, including those that aim to:
- Support community organisations and small businesses implement CCTV security measures at their premises.
- Provide a deterrent for potential offenders.
- Provide the NSW Police Force with access to CCTV data to support community safety.

Who can apply
Applications were open to:
- small businesses with turnover of less than $10 million or less than 20 employees
- incorporated not-for-profit community organisations.
Applicants also had to be operating from premises within one of the Local Government Areas (LGAs) listed below:
- Blacktown
- Burwood
- Campbelltown
- Canterbury-Bankstown
- Fairfield
- Hawkesbury
- Liverpool
- Penrith
- The Hills
- Blue Mountains
- Camden
- Canada Bay
- Cumberland
- Georges River
- Inner West
- Parramatta
- Strathfield
- Wollondilly.
Who can’t apply
- You were not eligible to apply if you were:
- a home-based business
- an unincorporated entity
- located in a large industrial area or large shopping complex
- located outside the LGAs listed above
- seeking rebate or reimbursement of expenses for a system already installed
- a Community Organisation that is a for profit commercial organisation and not a small business
- a NSW council or Australian Government agency
- any other criteria listed in the program guidelines.
Types of projects funded under this grant
The following were eligible activities under the program:
- Installation of new CCTV systems to premises at either small business or community organisation premises.
- Upgrades or replacement of existing CCTV systems that currently do not comply with the fund technical requirements set out in item 7 below.
- The technical requirements cover considerations such as:
- Camera locations and lighting. Cameras should be located with a view that is not affected by bright lights or physical obstructions, and there should be at least one eye level height camera to increase the chances of identifying offenders.
- Preference for installation of digital CCTV systems.
- Display resolution of captured footage. Minimum 800 x 600 pixels, 1024 x 768 pixels recommended.
- Frame rate of at least 25 frames per second.
- Compression quality. MPEG-4 H264 encoded CCTV system with a minimum of 52 kilobits per second (Kbps) bandwidth transmission.
- Data storage. Recordings to be stored for at least 31 days.
- Ongoing system maintenance.
