As an election commitment to boost physical activity and wellbeing through football and education in West and South-West Sydney, the NSW Government has partnered with Western Sydney Wanderers and Macarthur FC to deliver programs in the area.

Program objective
This program is called Football in Schools and is administered by the NSW Department of Education.
The program will help with health, socialisation and education. It will provide cost-of-living relief to families who are able to engage their children in the programs free of charge.
The program aims to:
- Increase participation of West and South-West Sydney students in multicultural communities and sporting activities.
- Provide targeted programs to lift engagement of females in sporting activities.
- Provide targeted programs to lift engagement of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander students in sporting activities.
- Enhance educational outcomes via activities during and after school.
- Promote wellbeing and active lifestyles.
- Alleviate financial pressures by providing free programs for students.
This program is funded and administered by Department of Education.
Program evaluation
Western Sydney Wanderers and Macarthur FC will provide program design, cost estimates and program risk and management logs for the Football in Schools Program to the NSW Department of Education as the approved governance authority.
Child protection measures such as Working With Children Checks will also be conducted.
Regular updates will be given to the Department along with midpoint and final evaluation reports.
