Overview
Local Land Services, Hunter region is delivering investment funding sourced from the NSW Government Marine Estate, Clean Coastal Catchments project to improve the water quality of the Lower Manning River Estuary.
This is a closed, non-competitive program (applicants are invited to submit applications and are assessed individually, without reference to the comparative merit of other applications).
Objectives
The grants are available to dairy farmers who milking herd resides in the lower Manning River Estuary and who have undertaken a whole farm planning process using Dairy Australia’s Fert$mart Guidelines.
This process evaluates soil fertility to derive an appropriate fertiliser strategy but also identifies potential improvements in farm infrastructure that would reducing nutrient, sediment or faecal coliform flows to the estuary from “hotspots” of sediment erosion, nutrient accumulation or other nutrient threats, for example, fertiliser storage, silage storage, effluent disposal paddocks.
This program is funded and administered by Local Land Services.
