Program objective
The 18-month Keeping Cats Safe at Home Phase 2 (Regional Expansion) project aims to mitigate the environmental impacts of domestic cats on native wildlife.
The program focuses on increasing rates of desexing, microchipping and lifetime registration while encouraging the uptake of voluntary containment of pet cats.
This program is funded and administered by The Department of Climate Change, Energy, the Environment and Water.

It seeks to build on the success of the initial Keeping Cats Safe at Home project by continuing efforts in 11 existing LGAs and expanding into three priority multi-LGA regions.
