Program objective
This non-competitive grant expands delivery of the Streamwatch and Waterwatch programs across NSW to increase community engagement in local waterways, influence behaviour change to benefit the environment and provide quality, timely and useful water quality data.
The purpose of Streamwatch and Waterwatch Citizen Science is to expand delivery of the Streamwatch and Waterwatch programs across NSW to engage new volunteer groups in water quality testing that will provide quality, timely and useful data.
Streamwatch and Waterwatch are both community-based programs coordinated by Greater Sydney Landcare Network and Community Environment Network respectively. These organisations will collaborate to deliver the grant funding. Streamwatch & Waterwatch Citizen Science is part of the Clean Waterways commitment and aims to support the ongoing activities of these two programs.
This program is funded and administered by Department of Climate Change, Energy, the Environment and Water.
