This grant funds the delivery of health services for women in Wagga Wagga and surrounding regions. These funds will help people with complex health or social needs access comprehensive and trauma-sensitive care.

Program objective
- Provide trauma-sensitive and integrated clinical services to meet women’s screening, treatment and health management needs, prioritising marginalised and disadvantaged population groups.
- Provide a comprehensive, client-centred, trauma-informed counselling service, including intake, assessment and referral services, to enhance women’s mental health and emotional wellbeing.
- Address the needs of women with chronic conditions and pain.
- Provide trauma- informed therapeutic group processes to improve wellbeing of women experiencing impacts of complex trauma, anxiety and depression, and low confidence and self-esteem. These women may be survivors of trauma, sexual assault or domestic and family violence.
- Provide evidence-based group programs to women and their families to improve health literacy and support behaviour change in reducing modifiable risk factors for chronic disease. Conduct health promotion events to develop and collaborate on strategies that raise awareness of social determinants of health, and contribute to early intervention and prevention approaches targeting identified health issues.
Health promotion activities may be run across various modalities including online face to face, video or webinars. - Provide accessible physical activity opportunities in a supportive environment to reduce the prevalence and impact of chronic conditions, pain, stress or trauma and promote healthy lifestyles across all ages.
This program is funded and administered by Murrumbidgee Local Health District and NSW Health.
