What’s this about?

The Births, Deaths and Marriages Registration Regulation 2017 is proposed to be remade with amendments. The proposed Regulation will make minor changes to provisions relating to the collection of information, indexation of fees and specific fee units and will insert new provisions to implement the new scheme for registering a change of sex under the Equality Legislation Amendment (LGBTIQA+) Act 2024.

A Regulatory Impact Statement has been prepared which sets out the objectives, costs and benefits of the proposed Regulation.

Please see the Regulatory Impact Statement for further information.
