What’s this about?

Between 17 December 2025 to 20 February 2026, we consulted on policy reforms to the Energy Savings Scheme (ESS) and Peak Demand Reduction Scheme (PDRS) delivered under the Energy Security Safeguard.

A series of webinars were held throughout February to provide more information about the proposed reforms and receive feedback from stakeholders.  

The consultation paper, along with the presentation slides and questions and answers from the webinar series can be accessed below.  

We also consulted between 17 December 2025 to 20 February 2026 on proposed Rule changes to the Energy Security Safeguard which complements the proposed policy reforms.

Submissions and outcomes from both consultations will be made available later in the year.
