What’s this about?

The key 2020-21 Energy Savings Scheme (ESS) Rule change proposals include:

  • updates to existing air conditioner and refrigerated cabinet activity definitions
  • the potential for new heat pump and solar water heater activities.

You can find more detail on the proposed changes in the Draft ESS Rule 2021 and ESS Consultation Paper 2020-21 Rule Change. Find out more on the consultation webpage.

Consultation forum

There will also be an online consultation forum on Thursday 15 July 2021. This is an important part of the ESS Rule change consultation process. It will provide you with an opportunity to hear about the key changes and ask questions.

After a morning plenary session there will be a targeted stakeholder engagement session on air conditioners.
