What’s this about?
Crown Lands is transitioning the site at Empire Bay on the NSW Central Coast to public open space. As part of this process, we are seeking community views on how its history could be recognised, including its longstanding use as a boatshed, marina and wharf.
Community feedback will help inform proposed memorial elements to be included in a future Development Application for the site. Potential memorialisation concepts may include:
- interpretive signage
- public art
- seating, screening or shelter elements
- landscape features
- digital storytelling, including QR codes linking to historical information, images and oral histories.
Feedback received during consultation will be reviewed and considered in the development of the memorialisation design.
