What’s this about?

The health outcomes framework will improve the State Insurance Regulatory Authority's (SIRA) understanding of the health outcomes applicants experience in the personal injury schemes the SIRA regulate.

The purpose of the consultation paper (PDF, 565KB) is to seek feedback on the health outcomes and reporting framework for the NSW workers compensation (WC) and compulsory third party (CTP) schemes (personal injury schemes).

The proposed framework includes:

  • a vision for the delivery of healthcare within the WC and CTP schemes
  • how to define, measure and achieve the vision.

The health outcomes framework will improve SIRA's understanding of the health outcomes people experience in the personal injury schemes that the SIRA regulate.

Better data on injured people’s health status and outcomes is essential to enabling SIRA and scheme participants to determine how the schemes are going in delivering value-based healthcare.
