What’s this about?

TfNSW proposes a noise wall to be constructed along Old Windsor Road at the rear of Charlie Yankos Street and Arnold Place, Glenwood, to reduce noise levels for local residents.

A specialist noise assessment identified that larger traffic volumes caused residents living near Charlie Yankos Street, Arnold Place, and surrounding streets to experience increased noise levels.

Noise wall key features:

  • The wall is proposed to be 5m high and 188m long, spanning from the access track on Arnold Place, just past 44 Charlie Yankos Street.
  • It will be built along the western side of the footpath, running along the North West Transitway, approximately 5 to 8 metres from the rear property boundary. This location was selected to keep clear of underground services like water supply.
  • There will be a 3m -wide access track to allow for maintenance of the wall, underground services and vegetation.
  • The visual look of the wall is yet to be finalised. The local area's character and features will determine its texture and colour scheme.

Work on the noise wall will start in July 2022 and your feedback is invited on the final design.
