What’s this about?

The Place Management NSW Regulation 2017 (2017 Regulation) will end on 1 September 2022. Transport for NSW will replace it with the Place Management NSW Regulation 2022 (2022 Draft Regulation). 

The 2022 Draft Regulation is mostly in line with the 2017 Regulation. It oversees the management of land and asset use, as well as conduct in public areas. It also outlines penalty notice offences, allowing on-the-spot fines for certain offences.  

The 2022 Draft Regulation also proposes to:

  • Include parts of the Barangaroo Delivery Authority Regulation 2015 for the consistent management of public land.
  • Improve and simplify requirements in the 2017 Regulation for easier and consistent administration and enforcement.
  • Bring fine costs into line with the Barangaroo Development Authority Regulation 2015 for consistent use across all public places managed under the regulation.
