What’s this about?
A review of the Water Management Act 2000 is required on the fifth year for each floodplain management plan.
The review determines whether the provisions remain appropriate for ensuring effective implementation of the principles of the Act.
Details on the 10 rural floodplain management plans can be found on the NSW Department of Planning Industry and Environment (DPIE) website.
DPIE is seeking feedback on:
- ensuring the floodplain management plan(s) are appropriate for the effective implementation of the water management principles
- identifying any issues with the plan(s) and review the effectiveness of implementation
- identifying if there are any potential amendments to the plan(s) that should be considered.
The public consultation period will provide opportunities for water users, stakeholders and other interested parties to inform the review of the plans.
