What’s this about?
NSW Department of Planning, Industry and Environment is seeking community feedback on the draft plan of management for the Royal National Park, Heathcote National Park and Garawarra State Conservation Area.
A new plan of management is required to help respond to key challenges. Feedback from the community will help guide the future management of the parks.
The parks face a number of challenges including:
- growing visitor numbers
- increasing urbanisation of the surrounding region
- impacts from climate change.
Find out more about the Draft Plan of Management and Draft Mountain Biking Plan.
The parks are vital in maintaining a network of conservation areas and providing wildlife corridors and habitat protection for a number of animal and plant species.
Public consultation provides opportunities for communities who use the parks to get involved and help shape the way they are managed into the future.
