What’s this about?

Transport for NSW is proposing changes to parking on sections of Victoria Street, Smithfield. The will help address safety concerns raised by local businesses and Fairfield City Council.

The introduction of parking restrictions will improve vehicle safety when exiting and entering properties and traffic flow.

Proposed changes include:

  • installing new 2-hour parking restrictions on the northern side of Victoria Street, about 420 metres long between 250 to 280 on Victoria Street
  • installing a no stopping area at 272 to 274 on Victoria Street.

Introducing no stopping to the short length of the kerbside lane will require removing one northbound parking space in this area.

Investigations show there is sufficient off-street and on-street parking nearby to meet the needs of the local community and businesses.

The proposed 2-hour parking and no stopping on Victoria Street will operate 24 hours a day.
