What’s this about?

The Department of Planning and Environment drafted new rules for floodplain harvesting licences in the Barwon-Darling valley. 

Public feedback is invited on the proposed rules for floodplain harvesting (unregulated river) access licences, to be included in water sharing plans for NSW's Northern Basin valleys.

These rules cover the following five key areas: 

  • account management  
  • available water determinations
  • permanent trade
  • granting or amending water supply works approvals, and 
  • access rules.
