Refer a patient
If you are a health care professional, including a General Practitioner, this page provides information to support patient referrals.
Referral requests should be guided by The Investigation of a New Breast Symptom: A Guide for General Practitioners (2021), developed by Cancer Australia.
Referral eligibility
Westmead Breast Cancer Institute accepts referrals for patients with:
- a confirmed diagnosis of breast cancer, or
- a reasonable suspicion of breast cancer.
How to refer
To refer a patient to the Westmead Breast Cancer Institute (BCI) Breast Clinic:
- Complete the online referral form using the link below
- Submit the form electronically
Referral form
Once submitted, you will be able to download a PDF copy for your records.
What happens next
After the referral is received:
- A member of the Westmead administration team will contact the patient directly.
- Appointment details will be confirmed with the patient.
