Batemans Bay Community Health is being designed to meet the healthcare needs of the local community and provide improved local access to a range of services such as:
- Allied health
- Child, youth and family services
- Women’s health
- Community nursing and wound management
- Palliative care
- Aboriginal health services
- Mental health, alcohol and other drugs services
- Specialist outpatient clinics
- Pathology
Construction began in May 2025 and is expected to be finished late-2026.
Project information
Batemans Bay Community Health will:
- Provide a sustainable, purpose-built community health service for the Batemans Bay and surrounding community.
- Work together with the new Eurobodalla Regional Hospital, to ensure the community has access to the right health care in the right setting.
- Use the latest technology and models of care to deliver patient-centred health services close to home.
The new community health facility will be built on the existing Batemans Bay Hospital site and close to the Medicare Urgent Care Clinic, which was opened in December 2023, providing the community with easy access between the two services.

The project will:
- Provide community-based services for the Batemans Bay and surrounding communities.
- Provide a healthcare centre in one convenient location at Batemans Bay.
- Complement services being delivered as part of the new Eurobodalla Regional Hospital project.
- Provide improved access to care for visitors to the region during peak tourist season.

Concrete pour complete for Batemans Bay Community Health facility
Construction of the new Batemans Bay Community Health facility has reached a significant milestone, with the project’s major concrete pour complete, laying the foundations for a modern health service that will support communities across the Batemans Bay area.

Strong interest in call for Art Commissions
Artists with connections to the Batemans Bay area have responded enthusiastically to the invitation to contribute to the new facility, with expressions of interest (EOIs) for a series of art commissions now closed.
Artworks will be featured in spaces throughout the new building to create a welcoming, healing and supportive environment for patients, visitors and staff. The EOIs will now be reviewed by the Working Group with an announcement of the successful artists expected in the coming weeks.

Community engagement
Health professionals, staff, patients, Aboriginal community representatives and the wider Batemans Bay community helped inform the design and planning of Batemans Bay Community Health.
Planning approval for the Batemans Bay Community Health project was granted in 2025.
