Broken Hill Emergency Department

The NSW Government has committed $12 million to upgrade Broken Hill Hospital's Emergency Department (ED), which will be reconfigured to better meet the critical health needs of the region and includes tailored treatment spaces for children and those requiring mental health services.

Project information

The project will be delivered in conjunction with the separately funded upgrade to the Broken Hill Acute Mental Health Inpatient Unit as part of the Broken Hill Hospital Redevelopment.

Scope

The project includes:

• A full internal refurbishment and reconfiguration of the Emergency Department making it a bigger and more efficient space.
• A new dedicated external entry with a spacious waiting area filled with natural light.
