Concord Hospital Redevelopment Stage 1

The Concord Hospital Redevelopment - Stage 1 project delivered a new eight-storey clinical services building that will reflect the hospital's history and architectural significance.

Project information

The new building houses a world class cancer centre, increased rehabilitation services and improved access to new aged care services including ambulatory care clinics, therapy areas and specialised rehabilitation gyms. This improved clinical integration and care coordination helps patients achieve better health outcomes and reduces the need to travel to multiple locations. 

The NSW Government invested $341 million to redevelop the Concord Hospital - Stage 1.

Benefits

The project will: 

• Deliver a new 214-bed (including 111 new beds) clinical services building, boosting the hospital's total capacity to 563 beds.
• Create world-class integrated cancer and rehabilitation services, providing greater continuity of care for patients and capacity to provide radiation therapy.
• Provide rehabilitation and aged care patients with additional services including ambulatory care clinics, therapy areas and specialised rehabilitation gyms, improving health outcomes, integration and comfort for patients and the community.
• Establish Australia's first National Centre for Veterans' Healthcare to support veterans and their families in an outpatient setting.
