The NSW Government is investing $20.2 million in a new operating theatre and supporting clinical spaces at Forbes Hospital, delivering modern surgical facilities and enhanced virtual care services for one of the fastest growing communities in the Western NSW Local Health District.
Project Information
The project will replace the existing operating theatre at Forbes Hospital with a new contemporary theatre and upgraded clinical support spaces. The enhanced facilities will expand the range of surgical treatments able to be provided locally and increase access to virtual care services.
The upgraded theatre will complement the hospital’s broad range of existing services, including a 24hour Emergency Department, acute and subacute care, birthing, renal dialysis, medical imaging, and community and primary health services.
The project will include:
- A new operating theatre
- Supporting clinical and treatment spaces
- Enhanced virtual care technology
- Improved surgical workflows and contemporary care models
- Upgraded facilities that increase flexibility for staff and support future service needs.
