Goulburn Sub-Acute Rehabilitation Unit

The new facility provides a mix of 1 and 2 bed inpatient bedrooms, with support services typical of an inpatient unit.

Project information

The project was funded by COAG under the Sub-Acute Bed Program, with a project cost of $10.4 million.

The project commenced in February 2012 and was completed in June 2013.

The unit houses a total of 20 beds and supports and works closely with the current acute inpatient facilities and outpatient support services, with shared staffing to promote a continuum of care. 

Scope

The project delivered: 

• 20 bed Sub-Acute Unit for short stay admissions
• gymnasium to service the entire hospital
• external raised courtyard area for rehabilitation under the new model of care
• external paths and rehabilitation areas creating a warm, inviting rehabilitation unit
• undercroft area supporting the plant and services
• structure to enable the future expansion above the top floor.
