Gundagai Multipurpose Service

Construction of the Gundagai MPS commenced in August 2011 and was completed in September 2012. 

The new MPS is a completely separate building to the existing hospital and construction works were carefully planned so that there was no impact on the existing hospital. 

Project information

The new service configuration enables Murrumbidgee Local Health District to deliver quality health services as defined by the clinical service plan. Other benefits include improved access to a greater range of healthcare and streamlining of the patient journey through the system of care.

All Local Health District services are retained and enhanced with the new facility. 

Scope 

The project delivered: 

• acute beds (12 acute beds including 2 respite beds and 1 palliative care suite)
• 18 residential high care beds
• 19 residential low care beds (through incorporating existing Uralba Hostel)
• Level 2 emergency service
• a range of diagnostic, support and community health services.
