The Lismore Base Hospital Redevelopment Stage 3A was funded by $60.25 million from the Commonwealth Government's Health and Hospitals Fund and $20 million from the NSW Government.
Project information
The project enables the hospital to provide more services, as well as expand its capacity to treat patients and respond to rapid growth in demand from the local community.
Construction of Stage 3A was completed in August 2016.
Scope
The project delivered a new and significantly expanded Emergency Department with:
- 31 treatment spaces
- an emergency medical unit with 12 treatment spaces
- emergency care fast track with 6 treatment spaces
- an expanded medical imaging capacity
- new ambulance drop-off and bay
- new renal dialysis unit with 18 treatment spaces
- future expansion space for the next phase of the redevelopment
- refurbished spaces to accommodate for expanded community health unit, consisting of purpose-built consult and interview rooms.
