Mid North Coast Cancer Institute

The Mid North Coast Cancer Institute combined 3 projects: 

• $4.75 million for a second Linear Accelerator at Port Macquarie Regional Cancer Centre
• $5.80 million for an MRI scanner at Coffs Harbour Regional Cancer Centre
• $9.52 million for a second Linear Accelerator and a PET/CT scanner at Lismore Regional Cancer Centre.

These projects significantly improved the capacity to provide quality cancer services for patients living on the North Coast and responded to:

• the growing demand for cancer services
• the need to provide a quality, networked service
• have capacity to meet future local demand. 

The combined capital budget of $20.07 million was funded with $17.07 million from the Commonwealth's Health and Hospitals Fund, and $3 million from the NSW Government. 

These projects were delivered by the Mid North Coast Local Health District and the Northern NSW Local Health District.
