The Professor Marie Bashir Centre (formerly the Missenden Mental Health Unit) was built in the north west precinct of the Western Campus of Royal Prince Alfred Hospital. The completed building was opened in November 2014.
The capital budget for this project was $67 million, the NSW Government contributing $57 million and the University of Sydney providing $10 million.
Scope
The project delivered:
- 40 relocated mental health beds
- 6 bed short stay mental health unit
- 7 mental health unit university research beds
- mental health assessment unit
- physical therapies suite
- eating disorders day unit
- 20 additional mental health beds
- building shell for additional ambulatory care services.
