Frequently asked questions
The new hospital will be built on the corner of Commercial Road and Windsor Road. This 2.4 hectare site was acquired by the NSW Government in 2021, and is owned by the Health Administration Corporation.
Several sites were investigated and had to meet a strict set of criteria for selection. The hospital site on the corner of Commercial Road and Windsor Road was selected because of its convenient access to the Rouse Hill town centre and public transport links. It is also large enough to accommodate new buildings, car parking and expansion zones.
To meet the healthcare needs of a rapidly growing population in Western Sydney, the NSW Government is investing in health infrastructure in the region. This includes plans for a new hospital at Rouse Hill closely aligned with nearby redevelopments well underway at Westmead, Blacktown and Nepean hospitals, and an expansion project announced for The Children’s Hospital, Westmead.

Consultation and engagement with health staff and community members will form an essential component of the ongoing design process and complement and aid in models of care delivery.
More updates and opportunities will be shared with staff and community members as they arise. Community members can stay informed by signing up for the project newsletter.
The Rouse Hill Hospital project team is working with multicultural and Aboriginal representatives across Western Sydney LHD and in the community, to ensure the hospital design is culturally safe for all people.
In addition, Connecting with Country work is being undertaken to ensure caring for Country principles are integrated into the design process.
The new hospital will provide comprehensive integrated care and community-based services through outpatient clinics. The new hospital will work with the primary health network to ensure holistic care for consumers.
The new hospital will include Hospital in the Home services and virtual care. This means that, where deemed clinically appropriate, consumers will be able to receive care in their home in addition to appointments with the hospital. This has the benefit of allowing people to stay within the comfort of their own home while still maintaining contact with their hospital clinicians.
There is expected to be a range clinical and non-clinical job opportunities at the new hospital. These opportunities will be advertised closer to the time of the new hospital opening.
