Woy Woy Sub Acute Rehabilitation Care Unit

The project was funded by COAG under the Sub-Acute Beds Program (approximately$6.6 million) and a NSW Government contribution of around $5 million.

Project information

This project commenced in April 2012 and construction was completed in May 2013. The new facility provides a mix of 1 and 2 bed sub-acute inpatient bedrooms with support services typical of an inpatient unit.

It houses a total of 30 beds and supports and works closely with the current acute inpatient facilities and outpatient support services, with shared staffing to promote a continuum of care.

The project also included the upgrade of back of house hospital services and a new car park to service the entire campus.

Scope

The project included: 

• a 30 bed sub-acute rehabilitation unit for short stay admissions
• multiple courtyard areas for rehabilitation under the new model of care
• external paths and rehabilitation areas creating a warm, inviting rehabilitation unit
• structure to enable the future expansion on either side of the proposed unit, in line with the master plan for the campus.
