About the Get Healthy Service for Aboriginal people
If you identify as an Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander person, the Get Healthy Service is for you. Your health coach can help you make small changes, so you look and feel healthy.

How we can help
Our Aboriginal health coaches will help you to:
- make healthier food choices
- be more physically active
- drink less alcohol
- maintain a healthy weight
- improve your health and wellbeing
- manage your health if you have conditions like type 2 diabetes or cancer
- access support to quit smoking and vaping
The Get Healthy Service fits in with your life. You will get coaching over the phone and online at times that suit you, plus extra support through emails and texts.
Talk with an Aboriginal health coach
When you join the Get Healthy Service, you can talk with an Aboriginal health coach who will help you reach your health goals.
You can choose to receive:
- support from a male or female Aboriginal health coach
- up to 10 regular phone or video calls
- tools and guides to help you stay on track
- emails and texts to support you
- appointment reminders.
The time it takes to reach your goals or the number of calls you have will vary.
When you finish, you can re-enrol for more coaching or register for Get Healthy Stay Healthy SMS (text message) support to help you maintain your goals.

You can ask your General Practitioner (doctor), talk with an Aboriginal health worker for a referral or register by yourself by:
- filling out the online registration form
- calling 1300 806 258, from Monday to Friday, 8am to 8pm and Saturday 9am to 5pm
