How to join
Who can join
Any NSW family with a primary school-aged child between the ages of 4.5 and 13 can join with their parent or carer. Siblings of participants may also take part.
Children who are under a healthy weight (below the 5th BMI percentile for their age and gender) may not be eligible. This helps ensure the program is safe and suitable for all participants.
If you have questions or concerns about your child’s growth, it’s a good idea to speak with your GP or healthcare provider. They can check how your child is growing and give advice to best support their health and development.
Support for Aboriginal families
Aboriginal families can get non-judgemental and confidential support from expert Aboriginal health coaches who understand family, culture and Community. You can have a yarn with your health coach, who will help you to set goals for your family and work out practical steps to reach them. Your coach can also help make sense of all the different messages about food, being active and keeping well, in a way that feels right for you and fits your budget.
Go4Fun supports whole families to set achievable health goals and try simple activities they can use in everyday life – like cooking together, being active as a family and finding time to connect. These small moments help build confidence, routine and stronger family bonds.
