About the program
Go4Fun is a free healthy lifestyle program for NSW families with primary school-aged children. The program is offered on the Better Health App with extra support from trained health coaches with a health-related qualification.
Go4Fun helps families build the skills and confidence to make small, budget-friendly changes that add up to a big difference in long-term health and wellbeing. The program gives parents and carers clear, trusted information and guidance – a stress-free solution for busy families that want to make healthier choices every day.
Once signed up families have 6 months of unlimited access to fun, practical online activities to complete together, through the Better Health App. Parents and carers will also be able to schedule up to 8 confidential calls with a qualified health coach for extra support and guidance.
Online activities together with health coaching gives families the tools and trusted information they need to help make healthy changes together.
Families learn clear, practical strategies to make healthier choices in a way that feels right for them and fits into their budget. Topics include:
- food – from simple tips for portion sizes, to reading food labels and planning balanced, budget-friendly meals
- physical activity – fun ways to get moving as a family indoors and outdoors
- healthy routines – improve sleep, learn about mindfulness techniques, manage screen-time, and support the whole family to feel confident in lasting change.
Go4Fun supports families to choose achievable health goals and creates small moments to build confidence together.
Nothing! Go4Fun is completely free for families with primary school-aged children across NSW.
Health coaching calls are scheduled to suit your family’s busy routine, and you’ll have full access to the Better Health App for 6 months. Families can join Go4Fun anytime and work through the program at their own pace.
Health coaching is available between 9am to 9pm Monday to Friday (AEST/AEDT), excluding NSW public holidays. Families can choose if they prefer to video or voice call with their coach. Calls typically last up to 20 minutes each.
Health coaching
Go4Fun is delivered by expert health coaches from the Better Health Company. They are qualified health professionals including dietitians, exercise physiologists, psychologists, and social workers. All Health coaches hold Health Coach Training Certificates and are accredited with HCANZA (Health Coaches Australia and New Zealand Association) so they are experts in behaviour change and habit formation.
Health coaches support families to set goals, stay motivated and turn healthy ideas into everyday choices. Coaches work with parents and carers in a non-judgmental way, supporting families to make changes that fit into real life.

After you sign up for health coaching, you will get an email with instructions on how to join the calls by phone or video. Calls usually last about 20 minutes, and your family can decide who wants to take part.
In the first call, the health coach will get to know your family. They may ask general questions about your child and what your family wants to achieve. You may also set some goals together.
Follow-up calls can focus on checking progress, talking about health topics from the Better Health App, and finding ways to overcome any challenges your family is facing.
Your family can have up to 8 calls and choose how much time to leave between each call.

Joining the program
Any NSW family with a primary school-aged child between the ages of 4.5 and 13 can join. Siblings of participants may also take part. Children who are under a healthy weight (below the 5th BMI percentile for their age and gender) may not be eligible. This helps ensure the program is safe and suitable for all participants.
If you have questions or concerns about your child’s growth, it’s a good idea to speak with your GP or healthcare provider. They can check how your child is growing and give advice to best support their health and development.
To register for Go4Fun, sign up online, call 1800 780 900 between Monday to Friday, 9am to 5pm or email contact@go4fun.com.au.
