Ingredients
- 250g cooked egg noodles*
- 400g rump steak*
- 1 brown onion
- 2 cups of frozen mixed vegetables*
- 1/2 tablespoon soy sauce (reduced salt if available)
- 2 teaspoons oil
- 2 tablespoon water
- 1 tablespoon oyster sauce
- 2 teaspoons minced garlic or 2 garlic cloves
- 1 teaspoon cornflour
- 1 teaspoon chilli sauce (optional)
Steps
- Dice the onion by removing the outer skins and chop into small pieces. Place in a small bowl for later.
- If using fresh garlic, remove the outer skin and chop cloves into small pieces. Place in bowl with onion.
- Chop the steak into small bite sized pieces and set aside in a small bowl.
- Prepare noodles following packet directions.
- Heat oil in pan, fry beef in two batches, place in a bowl and keep warm.
- Add chopped onion and garlic to the pan, cooking until soft.
- Add frozen veggies and water, cooking until vegetables are soft. Add beef to the pan.
- In a small bowl mix together the water, cornflour and sauces. Add the mixture to the pan with the beef and vegetables, and cook until it bubbles and thickens.
- Serve noodles in a bowl with beef and vegetables on top
*Tips
- You can replace beef with kangaroo or pork.
- You could replace the frozen vegetables for fresh chopped vegetables that you have in your fridge or canned vegetables.
- You can swap the egg noodles for rice noodles.
