Ingredients
- 2 slices wholemeal or wholegrain bread*
- 1 teaspoon yeast spread (for example vegemite, promite, marmite, salt reduced if available)
- 2 slices reduced fat cheddar cheese
Steps
- Lay slices of bread on a chopping board.
- Spread yeast spread over one slice of bread. Top with 2 slices of cheese.
- Place the remaining slice of bread on top and cut in half to serve.
*Tips
- You can swap the bread slices for bread roll or a wrap (wholemeal or wholegrain options if available). If your child will only eat white bread, try to choose a variety with added fibre.
- If making for school, place the sandwich in an air-tight container or wrap with cling wrap or foil to keep the sandwich fresh.
- Don’t forget to add a frozen drink bottle or ice brick to keep the food cool and safe.
