Justice Health NSW Year in Review 2025 published
Justice Health NSW has published its 2025 Year in Review, showcasing the achievements of our staff and organisation in advancing our 10-year Strategic Plan 2023-32 – Together for Healthier Tomorrows.
Each year, Justice Health NSW cares for more than 34,000 patients in our settings through dedicated in-person and virtual multidisciplinary teams.
Our healthcare services include primary, mental health and specialty care services.
Key highlights from 2025 include:
- Finalising the NSW Forensic Mental Health Strategic Plan 2025-2035, paving the way forward for system reform across the forensic mental health sector.
- Opening a new mental health intensive care unit in Sydney’s Forensic Hospital – providing specialist mental health treatment and rehabilitation services to acutely unwell and high-risk patients.
- Expanding our operational footprint and workforce following the transition of Junee Correctional Centre to public management.
- Delivering trauma-informed, culturally safe healthcare to people in custody through new partnerships with Aboriginal Community Controlled Health Organisations.
- Implementing open clinics in adult correctional centres, a new model of healthcare delivery that enables people in custody to see a nurse without the need for an appointment.
- Growing our Aboriginal workforce and introducing new senior Aboriginal leadership positions.
Together, we strive to deliver healthier tomorrows for the people in our care – now and in the years to come.
