New Drug and Alcohol resources released for patients
The Justice Health NSW Drug and Alcohol team have launched a new suite of resources to empower patients to regain control of their drug and alcohol use.
The ‘I Can Do It’ workbook is a practical, engaging tool that supports patients with their drug and alcohol use beyond the clinic walls.
Highly visual and grounded in behavioural science and cognitive behavioural therapy, the workbook was designed for patients with low literacy and shaped by patient feedback. Every word was intentionally chosen, balancing clinical accuracy and language used in custody.
The resource isn’t a one-size-fits-all solution. Instead, it’s a flexible toolkit offering a range of strategies, techniques, and prompts that patients can select based on what resonates with them, tracking their progress and supporting their different needs at every stage of their journey.
