Opportunity to join the Forensic Mental Health Lived Experience Advisory Group (LEAG)
People with lived experience of mental health challenges and experiences of the custodial and/or forensic mental health systems and their carers, are invited to express interest in joining the newly established Forensic Mental Health Lived Experience Advisory Group (LEAG).
The LEAG will provide valuable lived experience expertise to inform system reform, service delivery, innovation, patient care and family and carer engagement within the NSW forensic mental health system.
This will be the first Forensic Mental Health LEAG formed by Justice Health NSW, the lead agency for forensic mental health care in NSW.
The group will be supported by the Chief Executives of NSW’s peak mental health consumers and carers bodies: BEING – Mental Health Consumers and Mental Health Carers NSW.
We are seeking a diverse range of consumers and carers including with experience of custody or involvement in the forensic mental health system, Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people, people with disability, people who are neurodivergent, people with culturally and linguistically diverse backgrounds including refugees and migrants, adults of all ages, and people with diverse genders, sexes and sexualities.
