About the program
The Transcultural Mental Health Centre Carer Support Program runs language-specific carer support groups for people from culturally and linguistically diverse (CALD) backgrounds.
These groups support carers who look after a family member or friend living with a mental health condition or childhood disorder.
Trained bilingual and bicultural group leaders run the sessions once a month in suburbs across Sydney. They provide:
- information about mental health and caring
- emotional support from others with similar experiences
- education sessions and activities
- links to services and support in the local community.
