All visitors to Far West LHD facilities will have their temperature checked
The public are advised that as of Friday, 17 April 2020 all visitors to Far West LHD facilities - including patients, clients, consumers, contractors and all staff - will before entering the facility have their temperature checked as a precaution against the spread of COVID-19.
If anyone's temperature registers 38 degrees or higher, they will not be allowed to enter the facility and will be directed to the COVID-19 Clinic for swabbing and advised accordingly.
This extra precautionary measure has been enacted to help stop the spread of COVID-19 in our health facilities and community. This is to protect patients and consumers, as well as our staff.
The public's understanding and patience during this time is appreciated. Everyone can play their part in containing the spread of COVID-19 by doing the following:
- clean your hands thoroughly for at least 20 seconds with soap and water, or an alcohol-based rub
- cover your nose and mouth when coughing and sneezing with tissue or a flexed elbow
- avoid close contact with anyone with cold or flu-like symptoms
- stay home if you are sick
- keep your distance from others as much as possible through social distancing.
