Award Winning Glove Box Guide Explores Adversity and Change - Launch During MH Month
Now in its eighth year, the award winning Glove Box Guide to Mental Health shares inspiring stories of how people cope with and adapt to change as well as where people can find help for their mental health concerns when they need it.
The Guide - produced by the Centre for Rural and Remote Mental Health (CRRMH), via its Rural Adversity Mental Health Program (RAMHP) and with assistance from The Land will be officially launched on Thursday 3 October during Mental Health Month.
This year the theme is 'Journey Through Change' highlighting the many and varied changes people go through in rural Australia.
Far West Local Health District (FWLHD) RAMHP Coordinator, Marie Kelly, said we know change is a constant and it is how we adapt to it - or the journey through it, that makes us stronger.
Many readers will be able to relate to the real and admirable stories from rural people and organisations who have overcome adversity or needed to navigate change in their life.
The Guide includes tips and information on decision-making and stress, juggling priorities during drought, how to connect to a support network and how to recognise when someone isn't coping.
As part of this years' Glove Box Guide launch the RAMHP team are inviting members of the community to come and participate in a joint activity showcasing how they have journeyed through change.
