BH Community Vaccination Clinic Reducing Weekend Operating Hours
The Far West Local Health District is reducing the Broken Hill Community COVID-19 vaccination clinic from 7 days to 6 days.
The success of the Far West LHD's vaccination program has meant vaccination clinic hours can be reduced whilst still meeting residual demand.
Starting on Saturday, 20 November, the clinic at the Musicians Club function rooms will be open Monday to Friday, 9am to 4pm and 10am to 1pm on Saturdays and will cease operating on Sundays.
The reduction in weekend hours will also give staff the opportunity to take some well-deserved time off and allow the health service to gradually transition to 'business as usual'.
Chief Executive, Mr Umit Agis, said the city's high vaccination rate and that of the LHD as a whole is an achievement of which we can all be proud. This has correspondingly also meant that the demand has been easing in recent times, particularly on weekends.
'The community is to be congratulated for reaching the fully vaccination rate of 91.4% for 16 years and over (as of 14 November),' said Mr Agis. The full vaccination rate for 12 years and over is 90.4%.
'Vaccination is our biggest weapon against the COVID-19 pandemic. The turnout by the community to get vaccinated and the work by our staff and other agencies across the LHD to deliver and administer the vaccine is a fantastic effort,' he said.
'I urge everyone who is still not vaccinated to get the vaccine and the 3rd booster shot is also now available for fully vaccinated people.' Mr Agis said.
