Broken Hill Hospital Kiosk Auxiliary $141,848 donation for Hospital
The Broken Hill Hospital Kiosk volunteers has again made a significant donation to the Broken Hill Hospital to the tune of $141,848 to buy equipment.
This latest donation will bring the donations by the Kiosk to the Hospital in just the last ten years to a grand total of $1,752,500. The Kiosk Auxiliary donated $166,500 in the 2017/18 financial year and $176,464 in the 2016-17 financial year.
A $141,848 cheque was today presented to the A/General Manager of the Broken Hill Health Service, Ms Melissa Welsh, by Kiosk Auxiliary President Betty Sammut and Treasurer Stephen Bennetts
Ms Melissa Welsh said the health service was once again extremely grateful for the Kiosk volunteers.
'They do an exceptional job all year and once again we have a very large donation that will be used to buy equipment for use in the hospital. We are extremely grateful for their continued hard work and commitment to helping make our service better for this equipment,' said Ms Welsh.
The donation will buy equipment that the Broken Hill Hospital have asked for in a 'wish list' to the Kiosk Auxiliary:
- Philips MX450 patient monitors x 6. $92,542.46. For use in Theatre anaesthetic bays and recovery areas.
- Floor Line Hi/low beds x 6. $37,120. For use in hospital ward areas.
- A Valleylab FT10 electro surgical generator with LigaSure technology. $12,186. For use in the operating theatres.
Kiosk Volunteers were very pleased they could once again make a large donation to the BH hospital, said Kiosk Auxiliary President, Betty Sammut.
'All of the volunteers take a great personal satisfaction in working in the Kiosk and our 'pay day' is being able to raise so much money to buy equipment for the hospital. I personally wish to thank them all for their continued hard work throughout the year' said Mrs Sammut.
