Changes to Hospital visiting at FWLHD facilities
New visitor rules have been enacted for Far West Local Health District facilities following the easing of restrictions in the stay-at home orders on 11 October 2021.
Patients and residents in any Far West LHD facility can now have two visitors a day, with the following conditions on each visitor:
Is at least 12 years of age;
Has had two doses of COVID-19 vaccine;
Has evidence of their vaccination status when they enter the facility;
Wears a surgical mask on entry to the facility and for the duration of the visit.
The new rules are effective now until further notice.
People must not visit the health service if they have been to a case location in NSW or interstate in the last 14 days; are a close contact of a person with confirmed COVID-19 and are within their isolation period; live in a household with a person who is currently isolating; or are waiting for a COVID-19 test result.
The protection of our patients and staff is our main priority and the public are asked to adhere to these new measures as we work to keep out community safe.
The public are asked to ring ahead to their respective facility if they have any concerns about visiting. In situations where a visitor is not vaccinated or is partially vaccinated, a risk assessment will be conducted whether a local exemption is made. This will be determined on a case-by-case basis.
Everyone is also encouraged to be patient with concierge services at respective facilities as they check in each visitor.
