Far West LHD Vaccination Clinic is moving to the Civic Centre
The community COVID-19 Vaccination Clinic in Broken Hill is moving to the Civic Centre (corner of Chloride and Blende Streets) as of Wednesday, 25 August 2021.
The clinic will be open from 9am to 4pm, Monday to Friday and 9am to 3pm Saturday and Sunday.
The vaccination clinic will administer both the Pfizer and AstraZeneca vaccine.
The larger premises will enable more people to attend vaccinations at the same time while maintaining social distancing requirements under the Public Health order.
Entry is via the main entrance on Chloride Street and everyone is asked to follow the entry and exit directions. There will be a one-way flow through the clinic as sign posted and a QR code is mandatory when checking in for your vaccination. Parking is available in Chloride, Blende and Beryl Streets.
Vaccinations are currently by appointment only. To book a vaccination appointment, access the Federal Government's Eligibility Checker at this address: https://covid-vaccine.healthdirect.gov.au/eligibility?lang=en
If you are eligible, continue and register for your vaccination. Once your registration has been received, a member of our Vaccination Booking team will be in contact with you to confirm an appointment time. This will be done via the email address and mobile phone number you register with.
If you experience difficulties with the eligibility checker, please contact our Vaccination Booking team via email FWLHD-communityvaccination@health.nsw.gov.au or phone +61 1800 602 001. A member of our team will get back to you as soon as possible.
Vaccine information is available at www.health.gov.au/COVID-19-vaccines
Currently the Pfizer vaccine is available for people aged 16 - 59 years of age, and the Astrazeneca vaccine is available for people aged 60 years of age and over. People aged 12 - 15 from eligible groups (Aboriginal, rural and specified medical conditions) can now book a vaccination appointment through a general practitioner or a NSW Health vaccination centre. At NSW Health vaccination centres all people under 16 require parental consent and a parent or guardian to accompany them to the appointment. An online solution for consent is in development.
The Far West LHD COVID-19 vaccination clinic is also offering the vaccine for FWLHD staff.
The FWLHD extends its thanks and appreciation to the Broken Hill City Council for making the Civic Centre available, and also to Southern Cross Care for the use of the Con Crowley Village Recreation Centre, where the vaccination clinic operated since middle of June.
