Laundry Team Sewing Up Extra Scrubs for Hospital Use
The laundry team at the Broken Hill Health Service have been busy sewing up extra hospital scrubs to help boost the Far West LHD's response to COVID-19 pandemic.
They have been busy stitching and hand sewing the complete set of scrubs. Others in the team have stepped up to pick up the extra load. The extra scrubs will be used by staff working in high risk areas, and also distributed to our district sites such as Wilcannia Health Service.
'The laundry team have pulled together in these difficult and unprecedented times to display the true meaning of team work,' said Mel Welsh, General Manager Broken Hill Health Service.
'We are all certainly very grateful for their extra commitment to the health service, our staff and patients,' said Ms Welsh.
The Far West LHD Chief Executive was equally praiseworthy of the laundry team.
'This is fantastic and really shows the high spirits and positive attitude in our staff as we all deal with the impact of COVID-19,' said FWLHD Chief Executive, Umit Agis.
'I really want to say, on behalf of the Executive and Far West LHD, a big thank you to all those laundry staff for their efforts. It is very much appreciated and will go a long way in boosting our preparedness,' he said.
Mr Agis added that it was impressive to see how our workforce is coming together in response to the COVID-19 challenge.
'We are more than ever seeing the professionalism and commitment coming to the fore in our workforce, to care for our communities.'
