NSW Premier's Bushfire Emergency Citation Awarded to Three Far West LHD Employees
Three Far West LHD employees who volunteered to take part in the emergency response team during the 2019-2020 bushfires have been honoured by the NSW Premier.
Melissa McInnes, Sarah Koronis and Heba Day have been awarded a NSW Premier's Bushfire Emergency Citation. The NSW Premier is awarding the citation to recognise the outstanding contribution of volunteers and service agency personnel who played a significant role in the emergency response effort to combat the 2019-2020 bushfires in NSW.
In response to the needs of communities in NSW during the crisis, the three Mental Health Drug and Alcohol Services staff showed dedication, selflessness and sacrifice and were deployed as part of the emergency response team, helping people on the ground through such a traumatic event.
They were presented with the NSW Premier's Bushfire Emergency Citation. The insignia of the Citation is a rectangular silver framed navy-blue bar featuring a red stripe to signify the bushfire event, and the NSW State Flower (Waratah). It was accompanied by a Letter from the Premier of NSW and a Certificate co-signed by the Premier and Commissioner Shane Fitzsimmons. They also received an embroidered Commemorative Cap.
The citation was presented in a local ceremony by Ms Jodie Miller, Program Director MHDA, Far West LHD.
'This citation from the Premier is in recognition of your dedication and support to those communities and community members who needed you at such a devastating time,' said Ms Miller.
'On behalf of the FWLHD, I wish to congratulate each of you for your contribution and service to the emergency bushfire response and the people you helped.'
