Public urged not to be complacent about COVID-19
The Far West Local Health District is requesting residents to continue observing social distancing as one of our key public health strategies in maintaining our current success in flattening the COVID-19 curve.
'The community has done an outstanding job in keeping Broken Hill COVID-19 free and we need to make sure we continue to exercise vigilance and care,' said a spokesperson for Far West LHD.
Social distancing is designed to safeguard the health of individuals, their families, their loved ones and the community as a whole.
We have been receiving information of late that there have been gatherings beyond the prescribed numbers and breaching the 1.5 metre distance rule.
'The risk of spread of Coronavirus is still real and the consequences could be very serious if we fail to heed the key messages of maintaining social distancing, practising proper hand hygiene and getting tested should you have COVID-19 symptoms, even if they are mild,' said the spokesperson.
People can get tested in Broken Hill at the COVID-19 clinic in Thomas Street and at the drive-through clinic in the Musician's Club carpark in Crystal St.
