Rex Airlines supports Far West LHD Volunteers attend Awards Ceremony
Volunteers with Far West Local Health District will be winging their way to Sydney to attend the 2019 NSW Volunteer of the Year Awards with Rex Airlines sponsoring their flights.
The Far West LHD will be represented at the Awards by finalists Gail Turner, Tai Chi for Health Volunteer Instructor - Regional winner Senior Volunteer of the Year and Broken Hill Hospital Auxiliary Kiosk - Regional winner Volunteer Team of the Year. The Kiosk Auxiliary will be represented by Betty Sammut and Colleen Pedler.
Rex Airlines has generously sponsored two return flights in recognition of the contribution of our volunteer services to Far West Local Health District and the communities it serves.
Darriea Turley, Community Engagement Manager for Far West LHD said: 'We are very proud to have two finalists in the State Volunteer of the Year Award and also express our deep appreciation to Rex Airlines who are again supporting our organisation in recognising the outstanding contribution our volunteers make to the health service and community'.
Gail Turner, Betty Sammut and Colleen Pedler realise they are competing against very strong competition from across NSW and are extremely pleased and honoured to go to Sydney to represent Far West LHD and their community.
The 2019 NSW Volunteer of the Year Awards ceremony will be held in Sydney on Thursday, 5 December 2019.
